This revelation came from curve blogger Callie Thorpe is making a bold statement to women all over the world.

Thorpe said,

“I never dreamed I would wear a dress like this. I used to think that I would never get married until I was thin.”

Against the atmosphere and beaming wedding pictures, she took a moment of her time to write an open letter to all the women who are less confident of their physique on their wedding day.

This London-based writer and blogger did admit that at some point of her life, she did lose faith and confidence about herself and her figure.

She added, “I can’t lie and say at times I didn’t feel pressure to lose weight because I did,” she said over social media, the fact that the lack of body diversity in bridal magazines and mass media aggravated her apprehension.

In her preparations for her big day, she constantly get bombarded by the pressure of having to lose weight on her wedding day.

Her fiancé, now-husband Dan shared the intense pressure her bride felt days before the wedding day made and how she was able to cope up and deal with the chitchats about her weight.

“Health is important to me, but the ‘lose wedding weight fast diets’ are not healthy and I had to remind myself of that,” Thorpe told Revelist.

On the most awaited day, she nevertheless made the brave decision to get married despite the typecast associated with the usual brides seen in bridal magazines. Her decision paid off and her feeling was magical.
“As you grow older and you surround yourself with the right people, you begin to realize that what you look like doesn’t really matter to those that love you,” said Thorpe on Instagram.

Moreover, she added “Dan has loved me at all different sizes and on the day of the wedding when I walked into the room, he turned and teared as I walked towards him. He looked at me like I was magic.”

“Growing up I didn’t think I would find anyone to love me unless I lost weight. Little did I know that I would meet someone who loved me regardless of what I looked like. This was the single most important and priceless gift she ever received from her husband.

She confidently said that

“I never dreamed I would wear a dress like this. I used to think that I would never get married until I was thin.”

This bride told Revelist that the couple met at work when both of them were at their late teens. “He was my team leader so he was responsible for training me in my new job. It’s kind of one of those un-glamorous stories but still it feels special to me.”

The two were inseparable ever since they met and it was inevitable that a proposal was underway. Dan proposed to her while they were on vacation around Asia. Traveling was the couple’s common interest.

In the instagram post that went viral, Thorpe spoke self-assuredly to women who have low self-esteem regarding their bulky figure but deserving of a stunning dress and loving partner to hold their heads high because beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder.

She said “I would like to say this one thing to brides to be everywhere — plus-size or not. Do not feel you have to change yourself or your size to be happy on your wedding day. Your partner loves you for who you are, not just what you look like. You are deserving of happiness no matter what your size, and you will still be the most beautiful person in the room next to your love because you will be glowing with the love you have for each other. The happy ending is for everyone so please, please let yourself have it.”

Thorpe likewise said, that finding a dress was rather a challenging task for her since local boutiques didn’t have the size she would actually fit. “Meaning I would have to guess how a dress would look on me,” she told Revelist.

Since she is a well-known style blogger, David’s Bridal, without a moment’s notice, contacted her. She said ” I tried on six dresses and I chose number three,” she said of her gown by Oleg Cassini.

As soon she was able to put this particular dress Thorpe said, “I knew it was the one for me. My girls and I were all crying in the shop and the manager even came up to take a photo of me in my dress. It was such a special moment.”

After a memorable wedding day, Thorpe said “We are currently looking at traveling around Cuba for three to four weeks.” Congrats to the happy couple!
