Wedding is a very special moment in every person’s life.
Jaquie Goncher was a typical individual. But everything changed because of an unfortunate swimming pool accident. In July 2008, Jaquie suffered a spinal cord injury that broke her neck and left half of her body paralyzed.
Doctors told them that she could never walk again.
But Jaquie was never a quitter. For seven years, she proved that life still has so much to offer and for every storm there is a rainbow.
She told Buzzfeed, “I walked on the treadmill at the slowest pace holding onto the sides and focused on not passing out. I would pull myself with my legs in my wheelchair around the gym.”
After months of hard work and sacrifices, Jaquie found herself walking down the aisle on her own wedding. Not only that, she stand for nearly five hours on her very special day!
“Walking down the aisle felt like a dream. I felt accomplished and just so grateful and thankful,” according to Jaquie.
And her very affectionate mother gave her the most special gift, Maggie Smith Kühn, an artist to create a live portrait of the event. Maggie painted the couple’s first dance and it was a very magical moment.
When you want to achieve something, love conspires with fate to reach your heart’s desire.
