Winning a battle against cancer is a great achievement and a blessing. Cancer is a traitor disease which needs a lot of deep and complicated treatments to be cured, but it cannot guarantee to eliminate cancer cells nor to save patients.
Jasminka Velkovksa had colon surgery in the Macedonian capital Skopje three years ago. After the operation, Velkovksa though that everything will start to be okay and she already cope-up with the difficulties she had been through, but she was wrong.
Recently, she observed something undesirable on her body. She decided to visit a doctor for a check-up and found out that her previous operation went wrong. An X-ray scan showed that her colon and her vagina were indeed tied together, and the worse, her carcinoma was never removed. It is an indication that she needed to have surgery again to remove the growth and opted to make it to another hospital.
The surgeons operated Velkovska to remove a carcinoma from her colon, unfortunately, missed the bad cells and reattached the colon to the wrong part of her anatomy, to her vagina. They have once asked her if she was passing a gas and she answered yes, unable to say that the gas came out from her vagina which feels different. She is now suffering from unpleasant discharge that makes her feel scared.
Upon knowing the said surgery failure, Velkovksa coordinated the hospital for their lapses. The hospital agreed to pay her £25,700 as a resolution following the badly made surgery. However, the hospital did not pursue to pay the entire amount, so she decided to appear on a local television to ask for help where she told her condition despite embarrassment.
The hospital then spoke up that they cannot pay the damage without a court order, adding that the compensation was only partly covered by their insurance company. But Velkovksa felt annoyed on their excuses, as she is aiming to have the operation immediately to avoid complications. She is now planning to sue the hospital if they will take no action for her condition.
